AHIQ:Sun Quilt Top and Autumnal Tulips #2 from Quilty Folk

I seem to have fell down a rabbit hole this past little while. So shocking. This quilt top was a result of an AHIQ prompt from July 2022. I was really late getting going with my response and then even later getting it to finished quilt top stage. I was dragging my feet initially because it's just so different for me! Most of the applique pieces have been cut out and ready to go since sometime last fall though, and I've been positively antsy to see the end result.
Is it a sunflower or a daisy?
So yeah ...

So Many Projects from Quilty Folk

I've been in a flurry of getting things prepped and ready for 'the next phase' this past couple weeks. With the holidays right around the corner, I know the quilting side of things will slow down and then, if I'm not careful, all the momentum could be long gone.

All the prep work for another
Autumnal Tulips quilt
Right in the middle of all this busyness, there was an email asking me to consider doing a commission quilt. It was a very sweet request which made it hard to say no. After some serious deliberation and a little ...

Vintage Double Wedding Ring Bed Runners Finished and Delivered! from Cheeky Cognoscenti

Remember that Double Wedding Ring UFO that I told you about back in August?  A woman had contacted our Charlotte Quilters' Guild looking for someone who could finish an in-progress Double Wedding Ring quilt that she found in her mother's attic. As many of you know,  I spent many years as an artquilter before I moved into the world of modern quilt designing and teaching.  I still make a few artquilts every year--usually as a commission like this one or in response to an invitation [ ...Continue Reading ]

The One About the Vintage Double Wedding Ring UFO from Cheeky Cognoscenti

Good morning and Happy Monday!  I've had a great weekend with my Lars-of-Ours home from college on a four-day weekend.  It has been so nice to hear him playing my piano, talking and laughing with his brother, and just having my family "intact" again.

Meanwhile, I've been working on a project for a client:

Vintage Double Wedding Ring UFO, On My Design Wall
As you may recall, I met with a woman at the end of August who had discovered an in-progress (or "UFO" -- "UnFinished Object") Double Wedding Ring quilt among her late grandmother's possessions.  I thoroughly ...
